Wednesday 31 March 2010: Nokia E71. Blip. Fail

Good night tonight. Out for a few jars with Napoleon, white lightning, and the canadianian. Started in the star bar. I won’t be back. Trying to charge me 50p to use my card to pay. Eh, naw.

So we moved to the basement and had a bit of a late tea. They didn’t sell desperados, so we tried to make our own as per the blip. It didn’t really work.

Mediocre day at work. Don’t think I’ll mention work in a blip again unless it has been an awesome or awful day. No one, including me, really cares.

Photo was taken with my E71, pretty poor. Not to worry I thought. At least I’ll be able to post it on the way home on the train, using it’s ’smart-phone’ prowess. Fail. Couldn’t upload the file, at least using opera mini.

Tuesday 30 March 2010: And… and I’m… I’m real. I’m a real boy!

Was Pinocchio famous for liking spaghetti? I don’t know. But checking out his wikipedia page it turns out he was Italian, so I guess it’s a possibility. Just found this card while emptying out the boarding gear. Had a nice meal there with my Les Deux ‘Aples’ roomies.

Also managed to get all my
backblipping for the holiday completed tonight. Totally manky night again. Snowing hard. But at least the wind has died down a bit.

Monday 29 March 2010: They were cones…

Found this cone while out for my first ever blip and kept it because I liked the colours. Not particularly happy with this blip, so I reckon the cone could make future appearances.

Minging day today, blowing a gale all day and now it is snowing pretty hard. Ah scotland, how I love you.

The title is a quote from "The wedding singer", in case you wondered. You probably didn’t though.

Sunday 28 March 2010: Blurg, back to work

Week off over. Another few days wouldn’t go amiss.

10points if you know what this blip is of?

it’s one of the holes on the bottom of the iron. Had to get it out to do some shirts for work. I don’t actually have to wear shirts to work any more, but some numpties complained about folk in casual dress going to the canteen….and I cant give up my subsidised lunches, so a shirt it is :-)

Saturday 27 March 2010: Home sweet home

Long day what with all the traveling and the even earlier start due to the meat sweats. Could have done with a bit of a smaller aperture for this one, but too tired to notice/care.

Strange to be in a dunny where I can’t touch all four walls at once. Ah the joy of modern living

Friday 26 March 2010: Holiday, day 7.

Totally pouring down this morning, and all the lifts shut. Lucy and Dunc came up with a treasure hunt/challenge/drinking team game for us. Had a great laugh, but ‘ou est le jambon’ were totally robbed. Bunch of melon farmers.

Out for our final holiday meal which was great. Good steak. Then back to the polar bear bar of course. Think this is my favourite holiday blip, finally getting the hang of photographing the tricky subject that is the desperados.

Could have done without quite so much meat for tea. Woke up at 4am with the meat sweats. I’m beginning to see the benifits of such a tiny dunny. I think I may have fallen asleep in there for a wee while

Thursday 25 March 2010: Holiday, day 6.

Freakin freezing today. Got some runs done in the morning. In the afternoon decided just to @rse about on the nursery slopes. Was totally knackered, so off to the polar bear bar to warm up by the fire.

Had a meal while we were there. Bacon and scampi fries. Could a man ask for more?

Wednesday 24 March 2010: Holiday, day 5.

Another beautiful day. Decided to take the morning off though cause my back was still pretty sore.

Had a cracking coffee sitting in the sun at ‘crepes to go’ with some of the others.

Went up the mountain for a few runs in the afternoon, but it was pretty cold so was glad to get to the warmth of the polar bear bar. Ah, desperados, the king of beers. Thats probably about £25 of beer visible on that table. Ridiculous!

Mar 23 2010

Tuesday 23 March 2010: Holiday, day 4.

Weather was superb today. Great morning of boarding again. In the afternoon had a tumble and gubbed my back. AGGHHHHHHH how freakin annoying.

So back down the slopes early, straight to the polar bear bar. Mmmm desparados. A theme seems to be starting to become apparent.

Watched Zombieland. Quality.

Mar 22 2010

Monday 22 March 2010: Holiday, day 3.

Visibility was slightly better today. Had an awesome morning boarding. Reds and blacks time and again, with no faffing. Great.

First visit to the polar bear bar… reckon we might be here again. Mmmm, Desperados.

Mar 21 2010

Sunday 21 March 2010: Holiday, day 2.

First day boarding today, good to be out on the mountain, but the visibility was terrible, 50 yards at most. Made getting to know the runs and lift setup hard. Still nice to be out though, and the new kit seems pretty good, the boots especially.

Realised today, after seeing the other guys apartments, that we appear to have been stitched up. Our apartment is tiny. The dunny is so minuscule that when you are sitting on the can you can rest your head on the door.

Had a quality meal with all the group in one of the sensible sized rooms. Good end to the day.

And the disco ball made it’s first appearance. When you turn it off you are just in a room, when you turn it on all of a sudden it’s a party. Best £15 I ever spent.

Saturday 20 March 2010: May the holiday begin…

So I’ve arrived in the stunning alpes, Les Deux Alpes to be precise, or if the tour t-shirts are to be believed, les deux aples. Amazing mountains outside. so though I’d blip my beer. This is the reason I love french snowboarding holidays. Desperados.

Day one of the holiday, 5am start. Get here and there is a freakin scottish rugby game on and everyone else wants to watch it in the red frog boozer. Got some decent celebration shots though. Shock horror, we won….I think.

Cap’n f’n birdseye is in the resort it would appear…. at least thats who we decided the scary looking old drunk pirate dude was that was sitting sleeping in the pub.

Mar 19 2010

Friday 19 March 2010: We’re in the money….

… eh, naw!

Enough to buy a round in a french ski resort bar? I think not. Enough to get a couple of vin chaud up a mountain, I freakin hope so.

So I decided to take the slr. And have the netbook, but whether I will manage to blip every day we’ll just have to see.

adios amigos…..doh, wrong country.

Mar 18 2010

Thursday 18 March 2010: the new board…..

Well that’s the new board packed up ready for a week in France. Fingers crossed the snow is good.

If I was 20 years younger I might say something like woot, or should that be w00t, and not feel like a fool. Ah what the heck, WO0T!

Now the decision, take the slr, or the point and shoot…..

Mar 17 2010

Wednesday 17 March 2010: nest of snakes?

…or is it just my new climbing rope. Climbing at ratho tonight. It’s a Wednesday, this is all wrong. It should be Thursday. And at 8 minutes to midnight blipfoto is ruining my sleeping patterns.

Mar 16 2010

Tuesday 16 March 2010: Lets go surfin now, everybodys learning how.

So here we are. Day 3 and already I’m scraping around for a blip at 11 at night. Muchos respect for the folk than manage 365 days a year!

So while monochrome is out and about in beautiful Edinburgh with my wide angle lens, I find myself lying on the floor in the living room…again.

Mar 15 2010

Monday 15 March 2010: One remote to rule them all…..

… so no need to find them.

My trusty pronto. 10 years old, not been properly programmed for about the last 4, but still a nice bit of kit.

Been listening to BBC’s radio adaptation of Lord of the Rings, hence the title.

Oh, and first appearance in a blip for the new sofa :-)

Mar 14 2010

Sunday 14 March 2010: And so it starts….

After moving to a new office and being introduced to blipfoto by monochrome, this is it, my first blip. An hour crawling about in the woods and this is the best I could come up with.
